Wendy Williams Book Launch With Burlington and The Moms! {Event Recap}

Anyone who knows me off-line knows I STAN for the lovely Wendy Williams. I’ve been THE BIGGEST FAN of Wendy since I was about 12 years old. When I was younger, I definitely wanted to emulate Wendy’s career. I even went on to earn a BA in Communications and an MA in Journalism. I’ve followed her career since her radio days and absolutely CAN’T make it a day without catching a glimpse of her day-time talk show. Thank goodness I’m able to catch up on missed episodes via her website. I’ve even been to her show about 5 times and each time the experience is all the way LIVE. What I mean is that the energy she has, plus the energy of her staff and audience is so contagious!

Anyway, I was ELATED when I was invited by The Moms to the Wendy Williams book launch last week at The Hudson Bond where Wendy gave us the scoop about her latest romance novel “Hold Me In Contempt.” As Wendy tells it, it’s just as JUICY as it sounds–a-la-“50 Shades of Grey.” Steamy right?!

Wendy Williams and Melissa Musen Gerstein (1/2 of The Moms)

“Hold Me in Contempt” is a romance novel based around Kimberly Kind, a beautiful and successful lawyer who ends up falling for the quintessential “bad boy” named King. What happens around their whirl-wind love affair might spell trouble for them both.

I loved Wendy’s candid and personable nature during the intimate Q&A as she answered the audience’s questions about her writing process, balancing work and family and how to be an all-out -Fabulous Mom!

To prep for the event, all attendees received gift-cards from Burlington Coat Factory to get Red-Carpet ready. I had an incredible shopping experience at Burlington and so many clothing options to choose from since they carry designer merchandise at up to 65% department store prices everyday. After deciding between dresses and casual separates, I fell in love with this cobalt blue, mint and black pleated dress. I got so many compliments on it. It was the perfect “fab find” for this event.

Another great thing about attending events is that I get to catch up with fellow AMAZING bloggers from all niches. It’s no surprise that we were all tweeting/instagramming/ facebooking and taking photos whenever we got a chance.
