I hope you all had an amazing weekend. I spent my weekend relaxing and taking in a baseball game and post-game concert at Citifield! Besides bringing along all the necessary essentials like my makeup bag, a sweater, scarf, hat and sunglasses; I also got the chance to test out Verizon’s Droid Maxx smartphone to participate in their #VZWMaxxChallenge! Thanks Verizon!
When I’m reviewing smartphones, I tend to look for picture quality, fast internet connection, battery-life, phone aesthetic, and functionality. The Verizon Droid Maxx was great in all of these areas. Here are a few of my favorite features:
Long Lasting Battery Life. I can’t tell you the number of times I wish I hadn’t forgotten my battery charger if one of my devices dies on me while I’m out and about in the city. It can also be annoying to be that one person searching around at an event for an outlet because you need to recharge. The Droid Maxx carries up to 48hrs of use.
The Size. I don’t mind carrying around larger than life devices, but that also depends upon where I’m going and of course what I’m wearing (Duh..LOL). Since this particular baseball game was turning into a concert afterwards, I was so happy the droid was small enough to fit into my handbag or my pockets. It’s also thin, lightweight and durable.
Zapping Media. If you follow me on twitter you know that I was live tweeting about the game and my Droid Maxx in real-time. I was able to share my pictures and live video with the touch of a button and super fast!
Google Drive. Okay, yes, most smartphones are equipped with google drive, but the #droidmaxx comes with an EXTRA 50GB of FREE Storage. Bonus points!
Camera. Like most people, I tend to take pictures in every kind of setting. So it was great to know that the Droid Maxx can shoot great photos in low lighting.
Although I didn’t have the best seats in the game, (last minute purchase) I was glad that the Droid Maxx was able to capture my experience as if I had a front row view.
I’ve only been to about 3 baseball games in my entire life but this game was so exciting and energetic. While it was definitely due to the fantastic ball players, I was surrounded by die-hard Mets fans and even if you don’t like sports, that type of crowd will MAKE you get into it. Following the game was a post-game concert headlined by Queens rapper 50 Cent! Although his performance started off a bit shaky with the audio, the crowd went wild when he rapped his biggest hits. This was a great event for the start of the summer!

Disclosure: I was sent the Droid Maxx from Verizon for review purposes. All opinions are 100% my own.
