Test Model at Carol’s Daughter Mirror Salon

A few days ago I received an invitation by Carol’s Daughter to be a test model for a TOP SECRET product that’s in the making. Of course, I was super excited since I adore Carol’s Daughter products, especially when I straighten my hair. If you’ve never been to Carol’s Daughter Mirror Salon in New York, they’re located in the heart of Harlem at 24 West 125th Street. If you follow me on Snapchat,(@fabfindsforher) you might have seen a bit of my journey to the salon.

The inside of Mirror Salon has a clean, sleek design. The brick walls are lined with the brands’ most popular collections including Black Vanilla, Almond Cookie, Hair Milk, and other natural body products.

Although I ventured into the salon as a test subject and not a client, the staff was extremely personable and I was seen quickly. I was paired up with NYC Celebrity Hair Artist and NJ Salon Owner, Nedjetti Harvey. As a naturalista, trying out different hair salons can be both intimidating and exciting. I’ve learned early on in my natural hair journey that not every salon or stylist that claims they’re a “natural hair expert” will actually be knowledgeable about your natural hair. Luckily that was not the case, nor my experience at Mirror Salon. Nedjetti was wonderful! She first washed and conditioned my hair with the Black Vanilla Shampoo and conditioner which left my hair feeling so smooth and soft. Plus it smelled great.

The next part of my experience was testing out a secret product to see what affect it had on my natural hair. I can’t go into any details as of yet. But after leaving the product on my hair, Nedjetti put small twists in the front of my hair and coiled the back of my hair.IMG_2386

After sitting under the dryer, she then unraveled the twists, fluffed them and voila. Check out my finished look!

I absolutely loved how fierce it looked on my short cut.

If you’re researching natural hair salons and want qualified stylists, I would highly recommend checking out the Mirror Salon.
