Happy Birthday to meeeeee! Yassss–Aquarius season is in full effect. As a winter baby it can be hard to plan and coordinate an outing when there’s  generally a snow storm on your birthday. Well not this year! As a 30 something woman, like most older people, I didn’t want a late night out partying at a club. So I chose the next best thing–BRUNCH at a popular midtown Manhattan restaurant with igloos on the roof! It’s called 230 Fifth  Rooftop Bar.

So about those igloos at 230 Fifth Rooftop. Basically these winter wonderland features are all heated and patrons can still get bar service or food and enter their own private igloo depending upon the size of crowd. The igloos operate on a first come, first served basis. The website states  that the igloos seat up to 11 people, but if it’s a slow-paced day–you can definitely squeeze some extra seats inside.

Brunch at 230 Fifth Rooftop is buffet style and every.single.dish is AMAZING! I don’t have any pictures of the food since we ate everything on our plates before snapping pics. But trust me, you’ll leave this place fully stuffed and happy. If you like your mimosas and sangrias, they’re decorated beautifully and the bartenders aren’t skimpy on the alcohol.

Since the main attraction for my birthday brunch at 230 Fifth Rooftop were the outside igloos, I wanted to dress chic but warm. I found this faux fur coat on sale at Macy’s which kept me warm during these impromptu photos. Being surrounded by genuine friends, good food and scenery perfect for instagram made my 30-something birthday the best one yet!
