Birthday Behavior at 230 Fifth Rooftop Bar!

Happy Birthday to meeeeee! Yassss–Aquarius season is in full effect. As a winter baby it can be hard to plan and coordinate an outing when there’s  generally a snow storm on your birthday. Well not this year! As a 30 something woman, like most older people, I didn’t want a late night out partying at a club. So I chose the next best thing–BRUNCH at a popular midtown Manhattan restaurant with igloos on the roof! It’s called 230 Fifth  Rooftop Bar.

Happy New Year’s Everyone!

Happy New Year’s everyone! Even though we’re 5 days into 2017, I’m still hopped up on the holiday spirit. That’s right–my Christmas tree is still up, I still want to bake cookies and watch the Hallmark channel and I want to wear sequin EVERYTHANG.

For the the New Year I celebrated with friends and family absolutely no resolutions. For me, once I make a resolution, I end up quickly forfeiting it. If I say I want to lose weight at 12am on the new year, by 12:01 I’m already craving sweets. I find it best to make small, attainable goals for myself beforehand. For example, stop drinking my calories and just drink water. I went out and bought this cute BKR water bottle and you know what? I haven’t bought juice or soda in about two weeks.

If you’re enjoying a few days off during the winter break, you’re probably contemplating some fun activities. One thing I love to do during my down time is going to see a movie. The MOMS hosted a private screening of the hilarious movie Why Him? which stars James Franco, Bryan Cranston, and Zoey Deutch.

Not So Ugly Christmas Sweater

It’s officially 6 days before Christmas! I’m so excited for Christmas this year. Anyway–with the holidays upon us, I’m sure many of us have tons of parties to attend. One of the most popular family, friends and work festivities is the “Ugly Christmas Sweater” party. When it comes to the ugly Christmas sweater, I typically don’t go the ugly sweater route. I’d rather wear the”not so ugly” christmas sweater.

Christmas Shopping Guide

Stocking Stuffers $10 and Under
Did you take advantage of the Black Friday deals or Cyber Monday sales? I did! I’ve been in the Christmas spirit since early November and couldn’t wait to start my Christmas shopping. However, this year, this mama is sticking to a budget and a specific list. Along with gifting friends and family larger gifts, shopping for stocking stuffers is also fun!
For those people that participate in the office Secret Santa or just want to give out cutesy gifts, I’ve compiled a few of “Khadijah’s Favorite Things (a la Oprah’s favorite things without the hefty price tag).
My favorite stocking stuffers on the list above are:
1-Red Scarf by Old Navy
Old Navy is having some major sales. I love stocking up on winter accessories to prepare myself for the following winter season. Scarves are such a universally flattering gift that anyone would love.
90’s style is all the rage right now, so the $9 chocker is definitely a great trendy and affordable gift.
3-Rituals Body Lotion
I love, love, love, the light scents of Rituals products. This delicious body cream is only $10!
Honorable mention–the Vaseline Holiday Rosy Lip Therapy Tin available exclusively at Target!
The gifts above are mainly for the beauty and fashionista lovers in your life. Which stocking stuffer is your favorite?

Party in Fall Layers with AMIClubwear

If you’re a fashion lover like me, you might find yourself shopping for on trend items as well as classic pieces to create your ideal wardrobe. Because trends come and go, a fashion rule I follow is NOT to splurge on crazy price points. That’s why I was so excited when the on-line women’s clothing brand reached out to me to collaborate. Based in Los Angelos, California, features trendy, sexy, styles without breaking the bank.

I was sent the Sexy Pink Lime Sleeveless Racerback Straps Ethnic Print Casual Dress in size XL.

symphony-space-kids-the ugly-duckling

When you live in New York City, the weekend is the perfect time to discover a new adventure. As a Queens native, I love venturing into Manhattan for sight-seeing, new restaurants  and different forms of theatre. I recently had the opportunity to attend a glow in the dark performance of The Ugly Duckling. If you’re looking for quality entertainment for kids of all ages, you should definitely check out the Just Kidding performances at Symphony Space. Located at 2357 Broadway and 96th Street, tickets for shows cost as low as $17 per ticket and $14 for members. If you’re not familiar with the fairy tale, keep reading:

Disclaimer: I received this product from Verizon for review purposes. However all opinions are 100% my own.

Happy Halloween! Although I’m an adult (mostly..hehe), playing dress up for Halloween is my favorite thing to do. Generally I try to do a themed costume with my son–but I wanted to go with a costume that had a bit of glam and was versatile. If you can’t tell by my costume, I decided to become Little Glam Riding Hood, while my son was the Leonardo Ninja Turtle. While this day calls for candy, party and fun–it’s also a discussion for safety. Enter Verizon’s LG GizmoPal 2.
